THE DISTRICTMan fatally shot after hitting police cruiserA District officer fatally shot a man who crashed a motorcycle into a police cruiser during a traffic stop Sunday morning, authorities said. Police identified the motorcyclist as Terrence Sterling, 31, of Fort Washington, Md. An officer was able to stop the motorcyclist near Third and M streets in Northwest Washington, Newsham said, but the man tried to flee and ended up hitting the police car. Sterling was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police discovered the body outside in the 6900 block of Hawthorne Street, just south of Route 202 and 75th Avenue.
