Emily Gilbert almost came a cropper on her Yamaha V-Star 650 but attributes participating in a road safety course to saving her. If it had not been for a motorbike safety riding course Emily Gilbert believes she would have been a goner. She said the near miss experience had “so reinforced the importance of staggered riding, following distances and being aware of what is happening around you”. South Canterbury road safety co-ordinator Daniel Naude said Ride Forever course feedback showed that participants enjoyed riding more after learning the new skills.
