Motherwell FC kept quiet about the discovery of a paedophile physio rather than tell the police, it has emerged. It meant John Hart was able to continue targeting children after being booted out of the club by Scottish Cup-winning manager Tommy McLean. The club has now admitted it did not report Hart to the authorities when allegations were raised in 1990. "The decision not to inform the police was deplorable and shameful and casts a very dark cloud over Motherwell FC and those connected to it. Every SPFL club, including Motherwell, have policies in place...and a major part of safeguarding policies to prevent such events recurring."
