The annual flagship fundraiser Gems and Java returns for its seventh year on Friday, April 13 and Saturday April 14. It is largest fundraising event of the year for Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia and provides funding for current and future projects, which empower women and promotes education in Ethiopia. Tickets entitle guests to one complimentary piece of jewelry, as well as a purse or a scarf in the Bags and Baubles Boutique. To date, Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia has donated more than $300,000 to projects that focus on children’s education, and women’s health and empowerment. The Busajo project provides children living on the streets of Soddo, Ethiopia, with food, clothing, medication, education, a place to live and psychological care.
