A 46-year-old mother was yesterday charged in her absence at West Kowloon magistrates' court over the murder of her intellectually disabled son. The mother, Chen Xueping, is still in Yan Chai Hospital in Tsuen Wan, under police custody. Chen was charged with the murder of her 21-year-old son Wong Fat-lun between Friday and Saturday at their home in Ying Kwai House, Kwai Chung Estate. Wong was declared dead at Yan Chai Hospital. Chen had attempted suicide and was sent to Yan Chai the same day, Lam said.
