Somjit Puknoon, 55, said she needs support to tackle his extreme obesity, as doctors have warned that he may die in his sleep. Somjit lives with her son, Lattapol Puknoon, 20, and her daughter at a townhouse in Phitsanulok’s Muang district. She said Lattapol could barely move and even had trouble standing because his legs cannot bear his weight. Somjit, who sells food for a living, fears her son will die while she and her daughter are away from home working. She needs an oxygen system to help Lattapol breathe and is seeking financial assistance for him to receive an operation recommended by doctors at Ramathibodi Hospital to limit his food intake.
