The police recovered the infant’s body and arrested Moushumi Akhter, 28, from Bogra Sadar upazila on Thursday. Bogra Sadar police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Khalek confirmed the matter and said: “Moushumi threw her child into the toilet pit of her house in the early hours of Thursday. As a result, the baby died.”The child’s body has been sent to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogra, added the SI. Moushumi’s husband and his family members claimed that she had been suffering from mental illness.
