A 31-year-old mother has been arrested for child abuse after she allegedly abandoned her two-year-old daughter at Sai Yee Street Children’s Playground in Mong Kok on Friday. Police said they received a report around 7 pm on Friday that a girl was found wandering the Mong Kok playground alone with no identity documents on her. Police added that the girl sustained no apparent injuries and was admitted to Kwong Wah Hospital for observation. The case was then passed to the Mong Kok district crime investigation team. After an in-depth investigation, officers arrested the girl’s 31-year-old mother in Mong Kok on Saturday for ill-treatment or neglect towards a child in her charge.
