West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee gifted a Bible in Bengali that was bound in Baluchuri silk to Pope Francis at Vatican City after the canonisation ceremony of Mother Teresa. This Bible bound in Baluchuri to b handed over to @Pontifex,” Banerjee tweeted on Sunday. Banerjee was leading a 12-member official delegation to the Vatican as a guest of the Missionaries. Banerjee walked with members of her delegation to St Peter’s Basilica, where Mother Teresa was conferred sainthood. Crowds gathered and passersby also stopped to listen to Tagore’s ‘Aguner Poroshmoni’ and ‘Prano Bhoriye Trisha Horiye’.
