Police in Eldoret are holding Timothy Kitai alias Cheparkach, a most wanted criminal believed to be behind the spate of murders in Mt Elgon. The suspect, on whom a Sh1 million bounty had been placed, surrendered at Eldoret police station on Tuesday after hiding for months. They were to face a murder charge following the deaths of 34 people in clashes in the troubled Mt Elgon region.
