Most people know what cause PM2.5 dust: Suan Dusit PollA large majority of people know well what are the causes of the PM2.5 problem which has widely hit the country, according to an opinion survey by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, or Suan Dusit Poll. The poll was conducted on Jan 21-25 on 1,376 people across the country to gauge their opinions on the situation. A majority of people - 55.09% - said they follow up the situation regarding the PM2.5 crisis on a daily basis; 35.03% said they do so on some days only ; 8.00% said they rarely do so because they do not want to be under stress; and, 1.88% said they are not interested in it as they have to concentrate on their work. Asked whether they know what cause the PM2.5 problem, a huge majority - 84.30% - said they include dust from construction, industrial factories, exhaust fumes from vehicles on the roads and burning of grass and forests; while the rest, 15.70%%, said they are not interested and still lead normal life. Asked what have been affected by the PM2.5 dust, 95.54% mentioned health, respiratory system and the brain; 22.65% cited the economy and tourism; 12.94% mentioned daily routines and out-of-home activities; 10.17% cited the weather condition and visibility; and, 4.31% said of mental health and feelings.
