Most governors to retain seats: survey

By BRIAN MOSETIMore by this AuthorMost governors will retain their seats in August elections, a new study conducted in four counties has revealed. The survey by Trends and Insights for Africa (Tifa) conducted in Bomet, Siaya, Nandi and Murang’a counties has also shown that party affiliation only matters in the presidential elections. For the senate, 24 per cent said they would vote for Kanu’s Nick Salat while the incumbent Prof William Lesan would get 20 per cent. In the gubernatorial race, Governor Cornel Rasanga is still the strongest contender at 40 per cent, William Oduol 29 per cent, Gumbo Nicolas 20 per cent and James Orengo 3 per cent. Interestingly while Mr Orengo performs poorly in the governor's race, 87 per cent would elect him as senator.
