Students from all over Newfoundland and Labrador showed up in St. John's Saturday to compete in the Skills Canada Intermediate Challenge. Roughly 400 junior high schoolers took part in the one-day event at the College of the North Atlantic's Prince Philip Drive campus. "Each year it keeps getting bigger and bigger," said John Oates, Skills Canada national board president. Oates said this is the 14th year Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador has hosted this event. Winners of the competitions will return in the spring to test their skills against high school and post-secondary students.
