One day before the election, Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state that President Donald Trump won narrowly in 2016. Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com predicted Wednesday that Biden would win roughly 52% percent of the popular vote, or about 80 million of a projected 155 million total ballots. Excluding Obama, the last Democratic candidate to surpass 51% was Lyndon Johnson, all the way back in 1964. Donald Trump is also on pace to surpass 70 million votes, meaning Trump and Biden will have registered the two highest vote totals in U.S. history.
