The mosque that Omar Mateen, the shooter who killed 49 people at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando in June, was attacked Monday morning by an unknown arsonist who tried to set the building on fire. "Immediately after the individual approached, a flash occurred and the individual fled the area," St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department Maj. David Thompson told reporters at a news conference. Nobody was inside the mosque at the time and no-one was hurt in the incident. Thompson told reporters that the video images are not of very good quality because lighting conditions were not good, and so the video will be treated and enhanced in a laboratory. Thompson said that there is no evidence pointing to any particular individual or group threatening people who attend the mosque.
