The former SK Trencin of Slovakia star has been the subject of conjectures following a soured relationship with the Gent’s leadership. Simon was a sure bet for the Russia 2018 World Cup until an injury scuppered his dream of playing at the competition. Simon, though, admitted if the right offer from England comes, he might consider it as the best option form him, since he prefers staying in central Europe. Consequently, Simon will not play in Gent’s first home game of the season against Zulte Waregem tomorrow. The 23-year-old admitted that his time at Gent was exciting, but he has now started transfer discussions with clubs in France, Spain and Germany.
