The supermarket described the move as "the biggest fuel price reduction in recent times". But even this cut might not be the last, as tumbling oil prices could soon see a return to £1-a-litre petrol. Luke Bosdet, the AA’s fuel price spokesman, said: “Such a huge cut in pump prices is very welcome. “We know that Asda had dropped their prices by a similar amount early this morning and this should unlock the pump price logjam. “£1 a litre beckons, with wholesale petrol prices crashing 8p a litre by the middle of last week and another 7p since then," Bosdet said on Saturday.
