Morocco to initiate largest seawater desalination plant in 2021


The plant is expected to produce 275,000 cubic meters of desalinated water per day before reaching its maximum daily capacity of 450,000 cubic meters after being upgraded. Construction work on the world’s largest seawater desalination plant is well on track in Morocco’s Southern coastal city of Agadir. The construction of Douira seawater desalination station will cost about US$310 million. The plant is expected to produce 275,000 cubic meters of desalinated water per day before reaching its maximum daily capacity of 450,000 cubic meters after being upgraded.
