Morocco and Israel are discussing ways of fostering bilateral cooperation in various sectors including tourism, industry, trade, technology, green energy, culture…On Wednesday, Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita received in Rabat Israeli foreign ministry director general Alon Ushpiz, who is on a working visit to the North African Kingdom ahead of the operation of direct flights between Israel and Morocco. According to Israeli press reports, Ushpiz handed to Morocco’s top diplomat a letter from Israeli FM Yair Lapid inviting him to visit Israel and voicing his country’s resolve to bolster cooperation with Rabat in various high-value and competitive sectors. Talks also focused on regional and international issues of common interest, including the fight against terrorism, global warming and sustainable development. Afterwards, Ushpiz and his accompanying delegation discussed bilateral and triangular economic opportunities with representatives of governmental institutions and the business community. Morocco is the fourth Arab country to normalize relations with Israel in 2020 after the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan.
