Morocco and Saudi Arabia have once again underscored the strength characterizing their multilayered ties, voicing commitment to further bolster bilateral cooperation at the economic level. This came during the meeting of the joint commission, the first in nine years, co-chaired by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Saudi peer Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. Morocco’s foreign minister stressed the need to step up economic cooperation and Saudi investments to match the excellent level of political ties between the two countries. He said Morocco will continue to defend the stability of Saudi Arabia and the measures it has taken to safeguard the security of its citizens. Morocco has in the past stood with Saudi Arabia against the destabilization schemes of Iran in the region.
