Morocco and the African Union choose Marrakech, which is hosting this Dec.10-11 the Intergovernmental Conference on Migration, to sign the headquarters agreement of the African Migration Observatory. The setting up of the African Migration Observatory, to be headquartered in Rabat, was proposed by King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as the AU leader on the issue of migration. “The African Agenda on Migration has laid out its roadmap. The African Migration Observatory’s work is based on the triptych “understanding, anticipating and acting”. The adoption of the Global Compact on Migration in Marrakech is the best illustration that migration is now at the heart of the Global and African Agenda, he said.
