Moroccan-Israeli cooperation in security matters discussed in Rabat – The North Africa Post


Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, held a meeting, Tuesday in Rabat, with the Inspector General of the Israeli police, Yaakov Shabti, that focused on cooperation relations in the security field. The Israeli official is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a large security delegation. The visit is meant to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the security field and lay the foundations for security cooperation to serve the common interests of the Morocco and Israel, a statement by the Directorate General of National Security said. The visit also aims “to share experiences and expertise in various security fields, particularly in the areas of combating terrorism and various forms of transnational organized crime,” the statement added. Last week, Israel’s Minister of Justice Gideon Sa’ar and Minister of Regional Cooperation Issawi Frej were in the Kingdom for talks with Moroccan officials on ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
