Moroccan B2B e-commerce startup Chari secures follow-on funding from Plug and Play

Chari, a Morocco-based B2B e-commerce startup with embedded financing for the FMCG sector, has secured further funding from Plug and Play to help it continue on its growth trajectory. Founded in 2020 by husband and wife team Ismael and Sophia Belkhayat, Chari allows traditional proximity store owners in Morocco to order products and have them delivered. Ismael and Sophia are stellar entrepreneurs, and we’re confident that they will achieve great things,” said Aziz El Hachem, North Africa director at Plug and Play. The startup recently became the first VC-backed startup to receive a payment license from the Central Bank of Morocco. We are thrilled to be a part of this success story, and to renew our commitment to support Sophia, Ismael, and the Chari team in their journey.”
