National League club Morecambe have been placed under a transfer embargo over a disputed payment issue relating to former owners Bond Group Investments. The National League enforced the embargo on Friday, 27 February for "non-compliance with League financial regulations". The club also vowed to work with the relevant parties to ensure the matter is resolved as quickly as possible. Panjab Warriors took over the club last August, with the Shrimps having been relegated last season from the English Football League amid financial difficulties and then suspended from the National League for the first three games of this season. Morecambe are 22nd in the league with 10 games left and facing successive relegations.
