Substitute Kwame Thomas and captain Ryan Hill struck a late goal apiece as Aldershot ended a six-match losing streak with a National League victory over lowly Morecambe. Thomas slotted home after 88 minutes – four minutes after coming on – before Hill fired in a penalty in second-half stoppage time to seal maximum points. Jack Nolan's corner deflected onto the crossbar and Miguel Azeez fired just wide in the opening exchanges as the hosts looked to open the scoring, while – at the other end – Christy Grogan struck a post, Cameron Hargreaves came close and Hill fired wide. Gwion Edwards forced Aldershot goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke into a save as the second half got under way before both Nolan and Azeez tested the Jamaican but could not beat him, saves that proved crucial before Thomas and Hill netted at the death.
