The age of the excavated site ranges from 50,000 to 70,000 years oldChinese archaeologists have discovered more than 100,000 artefacts at the Mengxihe Palaeolithic site in Sichuan Province. Detailed analysis by experts revealed the evidence of fire utilization, stone shaping, wood carving, and polishing techniques within the artifacts. They also found more than 60 thousand organic remains – plant seeds and spores. Having studied the artefacts, the experts found traces of fire, faceting, wood carving and polishing.
