More than 1,000 IDs recovered from buried polythene bag in Ambalantota


NewsNational identity cards and company identity cards amounting to 1050 were recovered from Beminiyanwala in Ambalantota last evening while the ground was being dug during an irrigation reserve project with a backhoe, police said. They said the Identity cards were found packed in a polythene bag and buried in the irrigation reserve land. Many of the IDs are those of residents in the areas of Mamadala, Beminiyanwala, Hanganwagura, Jansagama, and Walawewatte areas. They were handed over to the Ambalantothota Police and will be produced in the Hambanthota magistrates court today.
