The Kanu legislator has sent mixed signals and it is not yet clear whether he will defend the seat as President Uhuru Kenyatta succession politics gathers momentum. His younger brother Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, who is the Kanu chairman, is one of the politicians expected to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022. If Gideon vies for the country’s top seat, Raymond has hinted that he will decide whether to go for the Baringo senate or governor’s seat. Another aspirant Elijah Kipkoech Biwott arap Tallam said Raymond is only interested in protecting family name.
