KUALA TERENGGANU: From a humble begining as a gardener to become the landscape manager of a leading hotel in town. Kupu, 55, is celebrating Deepavali with his family in Batu Burok and is expecting his first grand-child as his daughter K. Manimegalla is in the advanced stage of pregnancy. “Today, I am glad I took my father’s advice seriously,” said Kupu, the landscape manager with a hotel in Jalan Persinggahan since 2004. “This is when I often travelled to Tasik Kenyir for projects. Kupu is now part of Terengganu’s small Indian community which is celebrating Deepavali in their special way.
