KUCHING: A construction site near a police station in Jalan Khoo Yeang here has been sealed off following the discovery of ancient Chinese relics, said to be more than 200 years-old. The area, located opposite the state museum, has been cordoned off with tape following the discovery of the items, found last week. “We expect to make more discoveries soon, especially at areas heading towards the riverbank (Kuching Waterfront). The NST on Sunday had reported that a group of construction workers stumbled upon broken pieces of ancient Chinese pottery, believed to be from the Qing Dynasty period. The workers said the first few broken pieces of plates and bowls were found on Friday, and had been handed over to the State Museum Department.
