The Airbnb community has generated an estimated €506m for residents and businesses in Ireland in the year to November 2017. More Irish Airbnb users opting for staycations as guests generate over €500m for localsAccording to the firm's first Irish insights report, we have enjoyed an inbound guest growth of 63pc and a typical host here earns around €3,500 annually (average listing being shared for 37 nights). The numbers of listings reach 8,500 in Dublin County, and the vast majority of Airbnb hosts (70pc) rent out their primary home. In terms of guest growth, the fastest growing destinations (measured by inbound guest growth) were the North-West (101pc) and the Midlands (87pc). Airbnb was used by 676,000 Irish guests over the last year, a rise of 98pc with at least 17pc of those guests opting for a staycation in Ireland.
