Northern Ontario has been proven to be the destination of choice for more immigrants over the last five years, however in comparison to other parts of the country, the numbers are small. Statistical information from the 2021 census which was made public on Wednesday, 3,830 immigrants relocated to the five major cities of northern Ontario between the years of 2016 and 2021. Breaking this down, Greater Sudbury became home to 635 more immigrants over this time period, while here in Sault Ste. For example, Greater Sudbury showed that 103,785 people identify as Christian, while another 54,065 indicated that they are not tied to any organized religion in this moment. Other identified religions that were captured in the Greater Sudbury area included Muslim (1,545) and Hindu (1,325).
