Lawyer William Arusei withdrew when his request to adjourn the case to enable Catherine Njeri Ng’ang’a to seek orders at the Family Division authorising her to pursue the case on behalf of Carmelina Mburu was rejected. DISPUTECarmelina, the widow of former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner John Mburu, died in October 2017. She had claimed the 134 acres in Karen belonged to her husband. She appointed Ms Ng’ang’a to represent her in the dispute and as well as in her husband’s estate. But after she died, Ms Ng’ang’a filed a case in the Family Division seeking orders allowing her to continue representing Carmelina, but had received no response.
