The Montreal Impact signed Haitian midfielder Steeven Saba to a one-year contract Tuesday with club options for 2021 and 2022. Saba, 26, holds an American passport and won’t be counted as an international player. He had been in preseason camp with Montreal on a trial basis. “Steven confirmed the qualities we saw before inviting him to camp,” said Montreal Impact sporting director Olivier Renard in a statement. Montreal and first-year head coach Thierry Henry open the MLS regular season on Feb. 29 at home against the New England Revolution.
