Canadiens acquire defenseman Shea Weber from the Nashville Predators in return for defenseman P.K. “We completed today an important transaction which I am convinced will make the Canadiens a better team,” Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin said in a statement on the team’s website. Subban’s tenure in Montreal has come to an end as the Canadiens traded the star defenceman and 2013 Norris Trophy winner to the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. Shea Weber led all NHL defencemen last season with 14 power-play goals.
