The Madison County sheriff, Roger Thompson, confirmed many of the details of Orr’s account to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle on the day of the attack, before Orr released the video. “It’s like being struck by lightning twice in the same day; you don’t get attacked by the same bear in one day,” Thompson told the newspaper.
