DHAKA, Sept 13, 2023 (BSS) - A Dhaka Court today granted bail to Dhaka SouthCity Corporation (DSCC) Ward-10 Councilor Maruf Ahmed Monsur in a case lodgedover the murder of Awami League (AL) leader Jahidul Islam Tipu and collegestudent Samia Afrin Preeti in the capital's Shahjahanpur area in 2022. Additional Public Prosecutor Taposh Kumar Paul confirmed the matter to BSSsaying that Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge M. Asaduzzaman granted him abail till October 12 following a short hearing this morning. He surrendered before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah DibaChanda and pleaded for bail on August 16. College student Samia Afran Preeti was also killed in the incident at thattime. Tipu's wife Farhana Islam Dolly filed the case with Shahjahanpur PoliceStation on the next day in this connection.
