Monsoon enters Maharashtra from Vidarbha

File picUsually, the monsoon reaches Vidarbha by June 10 after covering most areas of Konkan, Goa and south Maharashtra. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) claims that within 24 hours, monsoon will cover Konkan and Goa and will reach south Maharashtra and Marathwada. By Chaitraly Deshmukh | Posted 19-Jun-2016The much-awaited monsoon changed its course to enter Maharashtra through Vidarbha instead of Konkan - its usual entry point on Saturday. Within 24 hours, the monsoon will be covering Konkan and Goa, and will also hit the south of Maharashtra, and cover some parts of Marathwada. This is because the monsoon Arabian Sea branch was inactive and was not getting favourable conditions.
