Committed to preserving rare handcrafts, Patek Philippe dedicates an annual collection that showcases the virtuosity of its artisans at the manufacture in the outskirts of Geneva. This is exemplified by the Gondolo Serata Zebra, released last October as a gem-set dress watch powered by a quartz calibre. Thanks to an ingenious technique, Patek Philippe literally dressed the sapphire crystal dial of the Gondolo Serata Zebra in the characteristic stripes. The Gondolo Serata and its predecessor, respectively launched in 2006 and 1993, are modern takes on the Art Deco style. The name references Gondolo & Labouriau, a Brazilian retailer who partnered with Patek Philippe from 1872 to the 1930s.
