Mombasa tycoon Ali Punjani denies fighting Akashas at bar


Mombasa tycoon Ali Punjani has been charged with causing disturbance by fighting in public with the sons of slain drug baron Ibrahim Akasha. He denied the charges before senior principal magistrate Francis Kyambia and was released on Sh20,000 cash bail. Lawyer Cliff Ombeta asked the court to grant his clients, the Akashas and Goswami, cash bail pending the hearing and determination of the case. Senior principal magistrate Henry Nyakweba released them on Sh20,000 cash bail each and set a hearing for April 1.
