It looks like a normal Moleskine pen, special notebook clip on the cap and all. Everything you write is stored in the pen until you transfer it to the M+ Notes app. What's nice is that the tech allows you to shift between notebooks and planners without having to tell the Pen+ Ellipse what you're writing in.
