In a government-sponsored bill tabled in the National Assembly, the state seeks to rename Moi Day. It will now be Utamaduni Day. The BBI had, however, recommended that Utamaduni Day be celebrated on December 26, a position the Cabinet had initially adopted. In December last year, State House announced that Moi Day would be renamed Huduma Day. After the promulgation of the new Constitution in August 2010, Moi Day was scrapped.
