Bagan, who created history by becoming the first Indian club to win Asia’s oldest football tournament - IFA Shield - in 1911, travelled to Bangladesh on many occasions. They last visited here for the Asian Club Championship 1999-2000 when they played Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in the away leg. The only foreign recruit other than the Spaniards is Trinidad and Tobago national defender Daneil Cyrus. Laos’ third-placed club in the league, Young Elephants are going to participate in an international tournament for the first time since they were formed in 2015. The Elephants have the youngest squad in the meet and have no foreign recruits in the squad as their head coach V Selvaraj informed that no foreign player is eligible to play in the Lao League.
