Mohamed Salah sets new record for Liverpool in comeback win against Southampton

The Egypt international sprinted from his own half to find the back of the net during Friday's Premier League match against the relegation-threatened Saints. However his fine strike at St Mary's saw him reach his half-century in just his 69th match - a new Liverpool record. Luis Suarez, another Anfield hero, took 86 league games to achieve his half-century while fourth in the list Robbie Fowler managed it in 88 matches. Salah, who scored his first goal in nine matches, told Sky Sports: "I think that's goal number 50 for Liverpool in the Premier League, so that's special. And the skipper stressed the importance of the remaining matches in the Premier League title race.
