One major concern is the Modi government's and party leaders' outreach to those on the fringes of the information-sharing machinery. COMMUNITY RADIO STATIONSThe Centre has decided to kick-start a massive information sharing platform for the underinformed in India's underbelly through a countrywide network of community radio stations (CRS). Yet, they are politically important and time demands breaking of barriers to information sharing. There are currently 206 community radio stations in the country, but mostly confined to a single objective driven primarily by NGOs, educational institutions and social activists. So, nearly 4,000 radio stations can be funded.
