KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Seram, Indonesia, at 7.50am on Saturday (Jan 16). ALSO READ: Magnitude 6.8 earthquake strikes off Indonesia's Talaud Islands, German Research Centre for Geosciences saysThe Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement, said that the quake occurred at a depth of 36km, about 82 km northeast of Ambon, Indonesia. It poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
