A Rapid Action Battalion mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam raided several restaurants in Gulshan 2 and found them not complying with hygiene standards. Khana Khazana was fined Tk300,000, Khazana was fined Tk700,000, Saltz was fined Tk400,000, Nando’s, BBQ Bangladesh, and Spitfire were fined Tk200,000 each. Sarwoer confirmed to Dhaka Tribune that many food ingredients had expired, and they were being prepared in filthy conditions. Furthermore, some restaurants were found using chemicals to adulterate their food, but he did not clarify which.
