As of today, the Gundam saga celebrates its 40th anniversary from when it was first broadcast in Japan on Nagoya TV. In the decades since the original Mobile Suit Gundam was aired, all manner of follow-on and spin-off series and movies have been created. However, it’s the original Universal Century timeline that seems to resonate the most amongst fans, as we are continuing to receive new installments based in this setting even today. If you are curious about the original Mobile Suit Gundam and have yet to watch any of it, then my advice would be to start with the compilation movie trilogy and ideally watch it one sitting.
