While Moana Pool has been commended for some accessibility efforts, a new rating has also outlined what needs improving. The pool has been awarded a silver rating from accessibility assessment group Be Accessible, with a score of 79%. The assessment considered things such as parking, public information, accessibility, customer services, communication and assistance for disabled users. The pool scored points for the text-to-speech option on its website, parking, accessible routes for users and trained staff who could assist customers in emergencies. Pool manager Nicola Smith said the assessment was sought to see what improvements could be made.
