Maniototo Community Library team leader Aimee Pieterse checks out the recently discovered moa bones on display at the library. A set of moa bones, discovered by a trio of school pupils and confirmed by the Otago Museum, have been loaned to the Maniototo Community Library for September. Maniototo Community Library team leader Aimee Pieterse said she felt ‘‘really lucky’’ to be able to share the discovery with the community. ‘‘We are really privileged to be able to have them here at the library, and grateful that they’ve loaned them to us so we can share them with the community,’’ she said. The moa bones will be on display at the library until the end of the month.
